KBSM's Steam Up!

Looks like this will be my last post of the year and how fitting than to write about the Grand Christmas and New Year Steam Up at the Kew Bridge Steam Museum.

This is a rare opportunity as it only happens once every year - all of the steamable engines will come to life, demonstrating the power of Waterworks Steam Engines. The Waterworks Railway will also be in operation and there will be a live Steam Model Railway chugging away in the Water for Life Gallery.

The Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday and Bank Holidays from 11.00am to 4.00pm, and the event will run from 1st-3rd January 2011. Admission prices are the following:
  • Adult: £9.50
  • Concessions: £8.50
  • Children (5-15 years): £3.50
It seems quite surreal that tomorrow is 2011 - I remember feeling the same way last year; just where has the time gone? Ah yes, I forgot to mention that I did manage to get around to visiting Hampton Court Palace for the Tudor Christmas, but I'll be definitely doing a write-up in the New Year, so look forward to it.

Hoping you all had a lovely Christmas and wishing you a prosperous New Year!
